A joint statement by the Bureau, M. Kefalogiannis, M.Camara and J. Sceuring -Wielgus – “The current conditions do not contribute to it”
The postponement of its meeting EU-Turkey Parliamentary Committeehe unanimously decided the Bureau of the European Parliament’s delegation to the committee, as “in the light of recent developments in Turkey” concluded that “current conditions do not contribute to it”.
Specifically, in their joint statement, the President of the EP delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee of EU-Turkey, MEP of ND and EPP, Manolis Kefalogiannisthe First Vice -President, Mélissa Camaraand the 2nd Vice -President, Joanna Sceuring-Wielgusreport:
“In the light of recent developments in Turkey, the Bureau of the European Parliament’s delegation to the EU -Turkey Mixed Parliamentary Committee concluded that the current conditions do not contribute to the 82nd meeting of the EU -Turkish Mixed Parliamentary Committee.”
A total of 49 MEPs and Turkish Members participate in the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
