Following the four stormy meetings of the pre -trial committee – set up to investigate any criminal responsibilities of Christos Triantopoulos – The plenary is expected to turn on the green light today for the referral of the former Deputy Minister rather than the Prime Minister to the Special Court of Justice for the offense of breach of duty to alter the accident in Tempe.
The transition to the next phase, that of the prosecution of Christos Triantopoulos for a misdemeanor, will not be “bloodless”, as the climate between the government and the opposition is explosive, which heralds a “war” meeting in plenary. At 09.00 in the morning, the finding of the pre -trial investigation will be introduced for discussion and decision – after his approval Monday only by the majority MPs – that concludes that the conclusions that “The concentrated evidence (…) is considered to be absolutely sufficient material to (…) to propose in plenary the criminal prosecution against Mr Trantopoulos”. In fact, he points out that he points out that “The Commission concludes the above conclusion, regardless of its will to be brought to the natural judge as soon as possible.”
The opposition to the opposition parties with the acceleration of pre -trial procedures, denouncing the majority for “A blatant violation of the Constitution that serves the feasibility of the concealment and protection of Mr. Triantopoulos” It is expected to lead to mass departures from the special plenary session, as reportedly, according to information, SYRIZA, KKE, Greek Solution, New Left and Victorythey will not participate in the discussion and therefore in the secret ballot. The government at the meeting is expected to be represented by the Minister of Justice, George Floridiswhile parliamentary groups will be given in the process PASOK, Freedom Cruise and the Spartans. It remains unknown, however, whether Christos Triantopoulos will speak.
The plenary session will culminate by secret ballot on Friday night on the approval or not of the former deputy minister to the natural judgewhich requires the absolute majority of the entire number of Members. It is recalled that after the approval of the request in plenary, all investigative acts are expected to be undertaken by the Judicial Council (consisting of 3 Areopagites and 2 judges from the CoE after drawing) operating within the Special Court.
