“We build an economy on solid foundations and this allows us to boost citizens’ income and support growth”The Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis notes in a post on social media, on the occasion of the submission of the annual progress report of Greece to the Council of the European Union, in the context of the medium -term budgetary – structural plan.

In the post, the minister quotes positive forecasts for the Greek economy, which are included in the report. Among them is foreseen 2.3%growth rate, investment increase by 8.4%, private consumption by 1.7%, and exports increase of 4.0%and imports of 3.8%.

The primary outcome of the state budget for 2025 is expected to reach the 3.2%, While the overall outcome of the general government is provided at 0.1%.

K. Pierrakakis emphasizes that through the implementation of critical reforms and the utilization of digital tools, the country has succeeded substantial progress in reducing tax evasionwith a direct positive impact on public revenue, which is estimated to exceed € 2 billion per year.
