During the meeting, Greece’s priorities were discussed during its tenure at the UN Security Council (2025-2026) and international and regional developments.
The latest developments in the Cyprus issue were also discussed. The prime minister welcomed the efforts of the Secretary -General to restart and maintain talks on the Cyprus issue. He also expressed his satisfaction with the re -appointment of Maria Angela HolguÃn Cuéllar as a personal envoy to the Secretary -General for the Cyprus issue and thanked Mr Guterres for his services.
The latest regional developments have also been discussed with the emphasis on Gaza, as well as developments in Syria and Lebanon. The prime minister emphasized that the immediate truce in Gaza, the protection of civilians and the initiative in this direction is needed.
