Extraordinary meeting under the Prime Minister will be held at the Maximos Palace at 13.00 noon, with the participation of the Minister of Rural Development, George Georgantas, the Minister of Environment, Costas Skrekas, but also the financial staff on the issue of food adequacy and supply of the country, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The main topics of discussion will be food supply, price increases, but also possible shortages in the market, with sources from the Maximos Palace pointing out that the government is monitoring and acting proactively, proceeding with the necessary planning and the necessary moves.
They note that this is not a Greek issue. “The problem will be in different parts of the world and because there will be restrictions on sunflower oil and some other species, people are realizing the consequences of the war,” the same sources said.
Regarding the cost of energy, based on the decisions taken at the Summit, government sources referred to the criticisms of the official opposition, which cites the special permit obtained by Spain, stress that “obviously it is a matter of interconnection and gas and there is no exception of Spain”. They conclude that the government does the same by returning the difference to the consumer himself.
