Developments in the Middle East do not in any way bring Greek -Turkish secondary with Tayyip Erdogan being well aware of maneuvering when he realizes that he can play an important role in the wider region. It is normal for the eyes today to be focused on The Hague and the NATO Summit, where there is very likely that there will be a new meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Even short, as it did in Budapest in November on the sidelines of the European political community.
The issues that the Turkish president has raised on the agenda are many and it is not an unseen period for Greek -Turkish. With all that has happened, the Ankara Cooperation Council is still in the air. It was initially set for the beginning of the year and has been constantly shifted since then. Will a date be set? Is it the period when we are going properly to attempt a better approach with neighbors? In any case, the dialogue has been shown that only a positive footprint leaves as it reduces tensions.
With the publication of their own map of maritime spatial planning, Ankara made its intentions clear. The provocative rhetoric remains constantly causing “mini episodes”. It will never be easy to dialogue and in every move on the Greek side – regardless of whether it is under the umbrella of international law – they are determined to respond by defending the narrative of the “blue homeland”. The Marine Park in the Cyclades announced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not sound well in the ears of Tayyip Erdogan. At the same time, the regime in Libya did not miss the opportunity at a time when the Middle East is warming up to the news of the illegal Turkolibyy Memorandum, serving Tayyip Erdogan’s aspirations. Shortly before the concession of four land for hydrocarbons research, things get involved once again. The “evil trusted” when the Islamic Cooperation Organization met, in the presence of Tayyip Erdogan and Hakan Fidan, in order to promote Turkish positions on the Cyprus issue and the so -called “Turkish minority of Thrace” once again. What they did not mention in Ankara is the reaction of an important group of Arab countries (Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain) that expressed its reservations.
