In his statement, Dimitris Mantzos, Head of KTE Foreign Affairs of the PASOK Change, he expressed concern about the signing of an agreement between the Libyan National Petroleum Company (NOC) and the Turkish Petroleum Society (TPAO), stressing that the move directly violates Greek maritime sovereign rights and threatens stability in the region.

More specifically in his statement states:

The signing of an agreement between the Libyan National Petroleum Society and the Turkish Petroleum Society (TPAO), for the conduct of geological and geophysical studies in areas described in the 2019 illegal and non -existent Turkolibyan Memorandum, constitutes an unmistakable upgrading of our straight violation of international sea law.

The government must immediately react to this new challenge, taking on all necessary political and legal initiative to international organizations against the new revision and illegal actions that are mine the Eastern Mediterranean.

The prime minister has to inform whether he raised the matter to the Turkish president at today’s meeting in The Hague and what was his reaction.
