Another verbal decline to the United Nations was sent by Libya, which was published as an official UN document on July 1st.

The decoration was deposited by the Libyan side on May 27 and is accompanied by a map that captures external continental shelf limits that reach Crete.

Diplomatic sources say that the verbal decoration of May 27, 2025 of the Libyan Permanent Delegation to the United Nations, in reaction of Greek initiatives to exercise legitimate sovereign rights, expresses the permanent positions of Libya, but does not produce legal results.

These positions have been put in the past and has been properly answered by Greece and Egypt.

The same sources point out that international law is not cited by unilateral verbal intercontinents, nor by pious wishes of third parties. Such positions do not refer to the preparedness for re -establishment of talks on the demarcation of a continental shelf and an exclusive economic zone under international sea law.

They point out that Greece will continue on the path of international law and the solid regional alliances that multiply its diplomatic power.

Unlike invalid and non -existent agreements, Greece is walking and acting under international law and does not hesitate to directly formulate its positions in every interlocutor, as the Foreign Minister recently did during his visit to Libya, the diplomatic sources conclude.
