To Dove Found Monday morning the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis For the inauguration of one of the 22 OSSIA Schools who started operating this year. The prime minister toured theaters, attended a teacher’s interactive board and talked to students.

Among other things, Mr Mitsotakis pointed out that “the government’s strategic objective is to steadily invest in reinforcing public education”.

‘Innovation workshops for a new model of education’

“A very important contribution by the Onassis Foundation to Public Education,” the prime minister described the project, noting that schools are not limited to renovated buildings and new equipment, but “include important teacher training programs, the utilization of new technologies and the use of artificial intelligence”.

“They are schools that will be at the forefront for the proper and good use of artificial intelligence, so that it is a real tool for our children and teachers,” the prime minister said, stressing that they would also offer “complementary activities, groups and activities for students”.

Mr Mitsotakis emphasized that the government would continue to systematically invest in public education, describing the Onassis Schools “Innovation Laboratories for a new model of education that will prepare children with the knowledge and skills for the world that opens up in front of us.”

In detail, Mr. Mitsotakis’ statement:

“I want to say a very big thank you to Mr. Antonis Papadimitriou and all the executives of the Onassis Foundation who worked so methodically that the new school year will welcome us with the first public Onassis Schools in full operation.

When, for the first time, Mr. Papadimitriou presented this idea, I must tell you that I was really excited because it is a very important contribution by the Onassis Foundation to Public Education. The purpose is to have 22 such schools first, as you can see fully redefined, with new stadiums, new frames, new toilets, new equipment. But public schools are more than just a building, including important teachers’ training programs, new technologies. I was really happy because in the classes I visited I saw interactive boards everywhere, in operation. They are schools that will be at the forefront for the proper and good use of artificial intelligence, so that it is a real tool for both our children and our teachers. They are schools that will offer additional activities, groups, other activities for our children. And I think that the greatest satisfaction for me, for the Minister of Education, for all education executives is when we see smiling faces, smiling kids smiling teachers and teachers who really embrace this great public and private partnership, which has led to this great result.

So let’s wish a good start. To say that our government will continue to invest systematically in public education, and I wish the lessons and lessons we will draw from the Public Onassis Schools, so that we can then transmit them throughout education.

I understand these schools as an innovation workshops for a new training model that will be able to prepare our children with those knowledge and those skills for this fascinating and uncertain world that opens up in front of us.

So Mayor, I am very glad that one of the schools was here is in our beloved Peristeri. The truth is that I insisted especially in one of the schools in Peristeri and with the good and the completion of the rest. Good start.

It is noted that the school was attended by the Minister of Education Sofia Zacharakis, the Mayor of Peristeri Andreas Pachatouridis and the President of the Onassis Foundation, Antonis Papadimitriou.
