Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kabal Madbouly, President of Sierra Leone, Dr Julius Maada Bio and President of Sierra Leone.
During a meeting with the president of Azerbaijan, the two countries’ energy cooperation was discussed by exploiting the potential of vertical interconnections.
The prime minister welcomed the recent agreement with Armenia, which he described as a positive development for the benefit of peace in the region.
During the meeting with the Egyptian prime minister, the strategic relationship between the two countries and the importance of cooperation in the field of immigration were discussed. The issue of the agreement on Sinai’s St. Catherine of Sinai was also discussed.
The meeting with Sierra Leone President was discussing the cooperation between the two countries within the UN Security Council.
During a meeting with Yemeni President Rashad al-Alimi, the prime minister expressed his support for the government and underlined the importance of free navigation.
