In Charilaou Trikoupis, they positively assess the presence of Nikos Androulakis in the plenary session of the Parliament during the briefing of the body by the Prime Minister on foreign policy and emphasize that the Mitsotakis – Androulakis dichotomy was highlighted in this discussion as well.

PASOK had a moderate and serious attitude, keeping the debate at a high level, and Nikos Androulakis justified the role of the leader of the Official Opposition, as noted by officials of the green faction. In fact, they emphasize that PASOK with the proposal for “New Helsinki” it picks up the thread of history from the old governing PASOK with the air of self-confidence that it is a difficult mission that the faction has accomplished in the past. The leader of the official opposition presented the vision of the party from the floor of the Parliament, with specific steps.

“New Helsinki”

“What, then, is the modern vision?

The modern vision is a new Helsinki that will not give Turkey the accession, which we know very well will never happen. But an upgraded customs link, with automated penalties.

And the road to achievement should have goals, such as the solution of the Cyprus problem, the real negotiation for the delimitation of the continental shelf and the EEZ in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. This should be the country’s strategic plan. And not to pretend that we do not see. Not to pretend that we don’t listen back to their narrative “calm waters”which in the end only benefited Erdogan and his strategy.” noted Nikos Androulakis.

In the green faction, they note that the Prime Minister avoided answering critical questions, did not give a timetable for the Greece-Cyprus-Israel interconnecting cable, while they were not convinced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ position on the Sinai Monastery, as he did not mention the ownership status of the Monastery.

“When you’re not at the table, you’re usually on the menu”

THE Nikos Androulakis referring to the Turkish-Libyan memorandum, he noted that the country must denounce it at every opportunity and forum.

“Obviously, for us, the Turkish-Libyan memorandum is illegal and non-existent, it does not produce legal consequences. But the signatories invoke it. And they will continue to do so and you know it well. The country must continue to denounce this at every opportunity and in every forum. Strictly. Not half-heartedly. And with a presence at all levels. When you’re not at the table, Mr. Mitsotakis, you’re usually on the menu,” stressed the President of PASOK.

Nikos Androulakis also hit out at ND internal parties, referring to the issue of the veto for Turkey.

“A while ago, you blamed me for the veto. That we don’t know that SAFE can be vetoed. I didn’t say it. You confused us, Mr. Mitsotakis! You have confused me with Mr. Dendias! Mr. Dendias said on May 29 that he cannot. When previously Mr Gerapetritis said he could. So, is the problem with us?…Rather, you have confused your internal parties with the official opposition. Here is the opposition! The real one, the official one and not the internal one, Mr. Mitsotakis!” commented the President of PASOK.

Pigadaki Androulakis-Konstantopoulou-Charitsi

On the sidelines of the debate in Parliament, the well Nikos Androulakis, Zois Konstantopoulou and Alexis Charitsi drew all eyes and created questions about the menu of the discussion. Many believe that it is possible that the OPEKEPE scandal and the possibility of a joint initiative were discussed, with Harilaou Trikoupi however declaring that it was a discussion in a relaxed mood which does not hide any background.

Androulakis-Doukas: Both together and apart in Amsterdam

Nikos Androulakis is leaving today for Amsterdam where he will participate in the work of the conference of the European Socialist Party, while he will also hold a series of important meetings, such as with Antonio Costa. The Mayor of Athens will also participate in the PES Conference Harry Doukas who will travel to the Dutch capital directly from Brussels, where he will participate in an event of the Union of Regions representing the Eurosocialists. However, most people bet that the President and the green Mayor are not expected to have a foursome.
