The need for “real strengthening of Greek manufacturing” was emphasized by the president of SYRIZA-PS, Socrates Famous during his visit to Komotini Industrial Area.

“One of the biggest problems of our country is the very low income and the great demographic crisis, which exists in the region. Unfortunately, Eastern Macedonia – Thrace is one of the regions, which is in the last place in terms of income and purchasing power in Europe. Our political proposal is exactly the opposite of what the government of Mr. Mitsotakis is doing,” he said. “We need real support in Greek manufacturing, we found very innovative companies here in the region, which can provide both income and a national product”, he underlined, noting that “these companies are unfortunately pressured by the great problem of accuracy that “brings” the whole of Greece to its knees, by a very incomplete institutional framework in the industrial zones, which does not give them the right to develop based on their own strengths”.

“Ultimately all businesses “bow” to the pressures from funds, banks and large energy companies. There needs to be a change in the financing system, to finance real employment, net wages, good wages, but also a high national product. Another productive model is needed, which gives importance and priority to the resources of our country and to the great potential of the Greek region. The Greek region sends an SOS, from the primary sector with the big problems we have, with the “ten plagues of the Pharaoh” that literally hit the Greek farmers, to the manufacturing that does not have a clean system of financing and controls. Unfortunately, there is a big problem in competition in our country. The rules of competition are not clear and this affects Greek entrepreneurship”, continued S. Famellos and concluded:

“A change of course is needed, the Progressive Greece proposed by SYRIZA-PS can give a future to good wages, but also to a healthy entrepreneurship that brings innovation to our country and generates income.”
