Northern Evia was visited by the secretary of the Political Committee of the New Democracy, Kostas Skrekas, who attended the event organized in Edipsos by DIMTO of Istiaea-Edipsos.

The same event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis, Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Kostas Katsafados, ND MPs of Evia Thanasis Zebilis, Simos Kedikoglou and Konstantina Karabatsoli, Secretary of the Organization of New Democracy Stelios Kondadakis, as well as a crowd members and executives of the faction.

In his speech, Mr. Skrekas referred to the government’s effort to support and reconstruct Northern Evia, he emphasized that the region is a government priority and an example of the implementation of targeted regional development policies, pointing out that the government is consistently continuing the work of restoring the damage caused by natural disasters, emphasizing at the same time the economic and social regeneration of the region.

Referring to the upcoming internal party elections on November 23, Mr. Skrekas addressed a message of unity and participation to all members and friends of New Democracy, noting:

“Internal party elections are an opportunity for renewal, participation and unity. Only through an active base can we keep New Democracy strong and respond to society’s needs. Our faction remains a faction of values, responsibility and perspective.”

On the sidelines of the event, the secretary of New Democracy discussed with citizens, professionals and representatives of the local society, who submitted concerns and proposals to strengthen local development. In the focus were the challenges of everyday life, but also the effects of the climate crisis that still affect the region.

Earlier, Mr. Skrekas visited the Port Authority and the Police Department of Edipsos, where he was informed about the issues concerning the operation of the services and the needs of the area.
