A two-day visit to Athens will take place tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, the Commissioner for Budget, Anti-Fraud and Public Administration, Piotr Serafinfor consultations on the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2028-2032.
On Thursday, October 30, Mr. Serafin will meet with the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakh, and will be followed by a visit to the extension of the Piraeus metro together with Nikos Papathanasis, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as Konstantinos Kyranakis, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport and Nikolaos Tahiaos, Deputy Minister of Transport. “Thanks to this first part of the mission, Commissioner Serafin will see first-hand how EU-supported initiatives improve lives and contribute to regional development across Europe,” a Commission statement said. Commissioner Serafin will then proceed to the Hellenic Parliament, where he will meet with the European Affairs Committee and then meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, Konstantinos Hatzidakis. His visit on Thursday will end at the Acropolis Museum, the construction of which was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
On Friday, October 31, the Commissioner will meet with the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, where they will have the opportunity to exchange views on the next MFF.
Mr. Serafin’s visit to Athens is part of a round of visits to all European capitals, in order to exchange views with national authorities and beneficiaries of EU funding, regarding the new proposals for the long-term European budget.
