RULES FOR THE ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE MEMBERS OF THE SYRIZA CENTRAL COMMITTEE – PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE
Article 1: Register of members
1. The Register of Members is unified and includes all the members of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance.
2. All members of the party are registered in the Register in alphabetical order of the surname.
3. The following information of each member shall be entered in the register: surname, name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, identity card number or social security registration number (A.M.K.A.), and Region to which the member belongs. member.
Article 2: Central Election Commission – Election Committees
1. The Central Election Commission (KEFE) has the central responsibility of the electoral process for the election of the President and the members of the Central Committee of SYRIZA – PS.
2. The KEFE consists of 11 members, appointed by the Conference upon a proposal of the Presidency of the Conference.
3. The KEFE announces the candidates for the position of President and the positions of the members of the Central Committee within four days from the end of the Conference and prepares the relevant ballot papers, in which the names of the candidates are listed in alphabetical order. surnames. The ballot papers of the candidates for the Central Committee are uniform and are prepared by Region.
4. By decision of KEFE, the constituencies are defined, where the elections for the election of the President and the members of the Central Committee will be held. The total number of polling stations is set at 500. KEFE ensures that the polling stations are proportionally distributed throughout the territory and for their posting on the internet. The elections of the foreign members are held with a special information system under the responsibility of KEFE.
5. The KEFE, in collaboration with the prefectural committees, appoints a three-member election commission for each constituency, which consists of the President, the Secretary and the operator of the online register and their deputies.
6. The Election Commission of each constituency conducts the elections in its constituency, prepares election minutes, extracts the results and sends them immediately to the KEFE, to which it delivers the election minutes and the ballot papers.
7. The KEFE decides on all objections that may be submitted regarding the electoral process. The objections are submitted to KEFE no later than two days from the announcement of the results. KEFE must respond to any objections within ten days from the expiration of the deadline.
8. The members of KEFE and the Supervisory Committees do not have the right to nominate for the positions of the Chairman and the members of the Central Committee.
Article 3: Right to vote and to stand for election
1. All its members of SYRIZA – PS have the right to vote for the election of President.
2. All members of SYRIZA – PS who have registered until 21.03.2022 have the right to vote for the election of members of the Central Committee.
3. The right to be elected to the position of the Chairman or the member of the Central Committee have all the members of the party, who have registered until 21.03.2022 and have been declared in accordance with the present election regulations.
Article 4: Electoral Procedure

Article 5: Election of the President
1. The President of SYRIZA – PS is elected by all members of the party.

5. In case no candidate obtains an absolute majority, the voting is repeated within 15 days on a date and time set by the KEFE between the first two candidates.
Article 6: Election of the Central Committee
1. The Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS consists of 300 members.
2. The election of the members of the Central Committee is done by Region.
3. The distribution of the positions of the Central Committee by Region is as follows:
a) Eastern Macedonia and Thrace: 10 members
b) Central Macedonia: 34 members
c) Western Macedonia: 10 members
d) Epirus: 10 members
e) Thessaly: 12 members

g) Western Greece: 20 members
h) Central Greece: 8 members
i) Attica: 150 members
j) Peloponnese: 14 members

4. Nominations and proposals of candidacies are submitted to the Bureau of the Conference until Sunday 17 April 2022, at 1:00 pm. 5. The candidates are listed in a single list by Region.
6. The gender quota is set based on the relevant regulation of the statutes as it will be approved by the Court.
7. The enlargement quota is set at 20% and is calculated per Region, and is applied after the application of the gender quota of the previous paragraph.
