Dendia Visits Japan: Urban Planning and Developments in the Mediterranean

Meeting with his Japanese counterpart Hayashi Yoshimasa will have today in Tokyo the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, in the context of extended talks between the two delegations.

Discussions between Dendias and his Japanese counterpart are expected to focus in the further promotion of bilateral relations in a wide range of areas, in EU-Japan relations, in the situation in Ukraine after the Russian invasion, and in developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific.

In addition, they are expected to cover the joint commitment of the two countries to International Law -including the Law of the Sea- and coordination within the UN, in view of the candidacies of the two countries as non-permanent Members of the Security Council (2023-2024 for Japan and 2025-2026 for Greece).

Mr. Dendias will also meet with President and former Foreign Minister Taro Kono and members of the Japan – Hellenic Friendship Group of the Parliament of Japanas well as with him chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce In Japan.
