US Secretary of State Nikos Dendias briefed his US counterpart Anthony Blinken on the situation in the Southeastern Mediterranean and how the United States could be more present in the region.
He said in a statement before their meeting at the State Department. For example, N. Dendias stressed, the 3 + 1 cooperation scheme (Greece, Cyprus, Israel + USA) is of great importance for Greece and pointed out that he would like to discuss its strengthening.
N. Dendias also stated that they will discuss the challenges to the rule-based international order and stressed that it is important for the United States to understand that no ground should be left for the revisionist forces to try to change this international order that based on rules.
It is noted that starting his statement, Nikos Dendias referred to today’s speech of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, describing it as historic, while at the same time he said that yesterday’s meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House was impressive.
