The president of ELOT, Michalis Fysentzidis, accompanied by the president of ETAVE and member of the Board of the Federation, Christos Manolis, but also the Associate Professor of the Department of Sports Organization and Management of the University of Peloponnese, headed by Mr. Choe for the intention of ELOT to organize the World Championship for Boys / Girls of 2023 in Heraklion, Crete, a proposal that has already been submitted to the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis.
In the context of the general information regarding the development policy of ELOT, the Greek delegation informed the president of World Taekwondo that ELOT intends to submit a candidacy file for the event as soon as the request is approved by Mr. Avgenakis. that the Federation has the know-how and experience to host major taekwondo sporting events.
On the occasion of the upcoming nomination, the president of ELOT talked for a long time with the Deputy Minister of Sports, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the European ITF Championship, emphasizing the opportunity that our country and Heraklion has to become a global reference point and pole in the context of development and tourism.
The presence of the Greek delegation in Heraklion ended with a meeting it had with the executives of Traditional Taekwondo, in the context of strengthening relations between the two styles of the sport.
