Robert Lewandowski says his time at Bayern Munich is “done” and urges the club to let him go. The striker wants to sign for Barcelona this summer.

The 33-year-old has already stated that he will not sign a new contract with the Bavarian, with his current deal expiring in 2023 and he has reportedly agreed to his personal terms with Barcelona.

But Bayern are determined not to let top scorers go, even though the Catalan club is willing to pay €25m (€321.3m).

Lewandowski announced his desire to leave the Allianz Arena this summer and asked the Bavarian hierarchy to stay out.

At a press conference ahead of the UEFA Nations League in Poland, Lewandowski said: First, I would like to say that I don’t want to talk about this situation, the club’s situation.

So what we do know for sure is that my time at Bayern Munich is over.

“I don’t think I have a chance to continue my career at this club based on what I’ve seen in the last two weeks.

Bayern is a serious club, so don’t stay just because you can.

“I don’t want to continue any more. I want to focus on the next match with the national team. After the team camp, I may have more time to talk about the situation. But for now I’m done like this. I like it.

There was some confusion when the translator said that Lewandowski was a “little serious club” at Bayern, but it was a mistranslation – the veteran striker didn’t fix it.

Lewandowski is believed to have been furious when he found out that Bayern were considering a contract with Erling Holland before the Norwegians moved to Manchester City.

Lewandowski was sent on the arrival of Hollande, but the German champion wants to keep the figurehead because he is not signed. Lewandowski seems to feel that if Bayern had considered him a few months ago, he should let him go now.
