Ajax defender Julian Timber’s agent was found in Manchester United’s London office as Erik Ten Hag plans to meet the youngster.
Ten Hag was officially unveiled as the club’s new manager last Monday, but flew to the capital a week before the end of the Eredivisie season and began planning an overhaul of the Underdog team.
The signing played a decisive role in the Dutch revolution, and it has something to do with his former Ajax player who knows his philosophy and tactics as the backbone of his hand.
According to De Telegraaf, the most advanced of these deals appears to be Ajax’s talented Timber move.
A 20-year-old agent was spotted last week at United’s London office, working from the same home base in Tenhug, and the youngster is set to join the Red Devils.
Timber is a big fan of Ten Hag, United managers want to meet again at Old Trafford and the club is now doing everything they can to secure a deal.
Ajax is estimated to have £35m for a versatile centre-back who is also dominated by German champions Bayern Munich.
His existing relationship with Ten Hag supports United, but there is still a long way to go to reach a deal with Ajax, who are keen to keep a defender.
The Dutch champions have already lost Nozea Mazlawi on a free transfer, the deal mavericks have moved to Bavaria and the Bavarians are also working on a deal with midfielder Ryan Grabenberg.
Ten Hag, who spoke about Timber earlier this month, praised: “I think all the top European clubs can see Timber.”
Regarding his speculations about the future, Timber himself told Het Parool: “I’m fine with Ajax, especially if I continue to play in the Champions League, I can still learn a lot.”
The guard added: “He deserves it. [the United job].. Ten Hag was very important to me.
In his time I became a footballer. I am the man of today. The coach told me a lot. He was very critical and a good constructive method. I won’t forget this soon. “
In addition to the Timber deal, Ten Hag also wants a new top-tier striker with two central midfielders (one defensively oriented and one offensively oriented), a right winger and a right back.
