Despite the lack of a Champions League at the Emirates, Gabriel Jess will move to Manchester City at Arsenal this summer.

The Daily Mail writes that Brazilian striker Jesus wants to move to Arsenal and join Mikel Arteta, former Manchester City assistant manager.

After moving to Etihad in 2016, Jesus proved to be a credible player, scoring 95 goals in 236 games. Last season he scored 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 games, but many were on the bench.

While at Manchester City, Jess won the Premier League four times, the EFL Cup three times and the FA Cup once.

Arsenal are set to ramp up interest in Jesus when Alexandre Lacazette leaves North London.

The Frenchman has agreed to return to his former Club Lyon, and his departure will free up the necessary funds to sign Jesus.

Tottenham still plan to compete for Jesus but report that the 25-year-old wants to work for Arteta and is ready to sacrifice at least one season of Champions League football.

Arsenal attempted to finish in the top four for most of the 2021–22 season, but endured the difficult end of the campaign and finished fifth, two points behind Spurs.

On Thursday, with his victory over Brazil in South Korea, Jesus scored a goal and said: Let’s see what’s best from Tuesday. “

Seeing Norwegian superstar Erling Holland complete a sensational move to Etihad, it seems more likely that Jesus will leave Manchester City.

His playing time next season could be further compromised, but with the departures of Lacazette and Pierre Emmerich Obameyan, who joined Barcelona in January, Jesus will have a big role to play at Arsenal.

Earlier this week, former Liverpool and England star John Barnes asked Jesus to join Arsenal against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

He told Bonus CodeBets: “Gabriel Jesus is comparable to Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal. They both have good managers and good clubs.

From a club perspective, the fact that Arsenal still have Harry Kane and Son Haung Min requires a centre-forward rather than a Spurs.

But this is modern football. Once upon a time, if a club wanted to go there, there was no auction like any other club. The players went to the club that came to them without signing a contract.

From Jesus’ point of view, he too needs to ask himself, with Cain and his son, if he regularly plays the same position he doesn’t play. Arsenal needs Jesus more and he will fit in better there.
