Simon Whitlock has announced that Damon Heta will be the next world champion since the Australian pair defeated Wales to win their first Darts World Cup.

The Australian pair defeated tournament favorites Garvin Price and Jonny Clayton 3-1 in the final. They had an impressive victory over England in the semi-finals and quarter-finals against Belgium earlier this week.

Whitlock has always been involved since the 2010 First PDC Darts World Cup and is known to have lost to England in the 2012 final and ultimately won the cup.

The sorcerer not only praised Heta, but also touched Kyle Anderson, a former World Cup teammate who tragically died last year.

“I had a great partner, but he was great. A great partner, a great friend of the arrow,” Witrock told Sky Sports. The crowd was great, they were amazing.

Life changing, I’ve dreamed of this moment my whole life, and I finally went there and did it with good friends and great arrow players.

“I wish I had done it with Kyle sooner, but Kyle is gone and Damon is responsible. It’s unbelievable. I love this guy. He’s the best player on the planet now.”

“As we played, I thought about Kyle. We missed him, he was a great guy and a great arrow player.”

Whitlock made a bold prophecy to Heta, saying, “This man was attacked. He will be the next world champion. I can guarantee it.”

Heta added: “I was definitely trying to catch this guy. We were home with all the support from Australia.”

“We sacrificed everything to be here, and it’s a bit in the bag!”

The Welsh pair won the title in 2020, and before losing this time, Price expressed kindness to the new champion.

“It wasn’t the best in the final, but Simon and Damon played really well,” Iceman said.

“At the start of the tournament, I told John, ‘This is the final.’ I expected to win, which was wrong, but it was a fair match for them.”

Iceman and Ferret looked strong and defeated the Philippines, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands to advance to the final.

The average price for beating Germany’s Martin Schindler in the quarter-finals was 117.88, which seemed unstoppable, but Wales were not the best in the final.
