Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic called the US Open ban on unvaccinated athletes “political” and said he didn’t understand the logic.

Djokovic is currently defending the Wimbledon crown, but is already eyeing the next Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows. Because of his opposition to vaccination, the top 20 winners are unlikely to play in New York.

The world number three, the top seed in SW19, has won the National Open three times. Last but not least, after registering for Surface Srem 2021, he lost to Daniil Medvedev in the final last year. He won the Australian Open, the French Open and Wimbledon. ..

After winning these titles, the 35-year-old Serbs became a hot topic for a variety of reasons. His views on corovirus and forced vaccination regularly spread the news that his body shape is declining.

He departed for the 2022 Australian Open, after spending time stuck in an immigration center, he was deported and banned from playing, and controversially using medical waivers. I tried to enter the country.

He was allowed to take part in the French Open this year, but with some unease among fans, he deserved better approval for a tournament he has won at least six times at Wimbledon this year.

At his next Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows, Djokovic said: “Right now, unvaccinated people are not allowed to enter the United States.

“I heard that some people fled informally and others weren’t ‘famous,’ but they wouldn’t go to America unless they were allowed to.

“Some people think I made that mistake in Australia, but it was the opposite. There were exceptions etc. Don’t continue with the same story.

“The point is that if they tell you you can’t go, you won’t go and you’ll never get into that situation.

‘I was writing a message [American tennis player] Tennis Sandgren a few days ago. I would like to thank him for the public support he has given me in this situation.

What he says is perfectly logical: if an unvaccinated player is not allowed to compete in the National Open, it should be for everyone. He’s a US citizen and I can’t, so I can’t see behind the medical logic of playing tennis.

“If I had a US passport or a green card, I could play. Perhaps there is a political logic behind it, not a medical one, but I don’t want to go into that. So you understand why.”
