Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku returned to Milan before returning to Inter and shared the excitement of returning to the San Siro.

A Belgian footballer received medical attention on Wednesday before signing a one-year contract, and he was doing great when he arrived at Milan airport at 6:30 am Italian time.

Lukaku was greeted by a reporter as he walked to the car, answered a few questions briefly, and had his photo taken wearing a blue and black scarf.

Asked what he thought about returning to the Nerazuri after a disappointing year at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku smiled and told reporters: “I’m so happy to be back!”

The 29-year-old will receive medical attention before Intel officially confirms the contract later in the day and will sign Lukaku on loan until the end of the season.

Inter agreed to cover the striker’s full amount and paid a guaranteed loan fee of €8 million (მილი 6 million), but with various performance-related additions the package could reach €10 million.

Lukaku is no longer part of Thomas Tuchel’s plan, and both the player and his manager want to say goodbye, albeit temporarily, with co-owner Todd Ball agreeing to the loan.

The former Everton and Manchester United strikers kept Chelsea’s record signing, leaving a £97.975m deal more than a year ago, but scored eight Premier League goals in their second game in west London.

Lukaku also felt that Tuchel did not stylistically fit the brand of football he loved to play, but when he interviewed him and said he regretted moving, he argued that it caused and lost the support of the fans.

The Belgians told Sky Sports Italia in December that they were “not happy with the situation at Chelsea”, apologizing to Intel fans and saying they would like to return when they are full.

“I would like to apologize a lot to Interfan because I should have left in another way,” he publicly announced his commitment to the club and immediately left for Chelsea.

“In my mind, I want to go back to Intel, not the end of my career, but still at a good level, I want to win more.”

Lukaku granted his wish, perhaps sooner than he expected, but Intel fans did not accept him like a handful of Carbanold supporters because he did not allow the club to “betray”.

The striker made 96 appearances in all of Intel’s tournaments, scoring 64 goals and was the club’s top scorer in each of the two seasons, handing the team the Serie A title for the first time in 11 years.
