by

Great success for the Young Women’s National Team! Our representative group faced the Netherlands in the small final of the European Championship held in Netanya, where they won 10-9 and won the bronze medal .

The “Oranie” started the game more dynamically and managed to take a 2-1 lead in the first eight minutes. However, the girls of Eftychia Karagiannis made their own counterattack, they did not concede a goal for more than 10 minutes, managing to take a lead that seemed safe.

The start of the 4th and last part found Greece leading 8-4, but at that point a run by the Dutch tied the match.

At 3 minutes before the end, the captain of our team came forward Christina Siuti and with a very cool execution gave the lead back to the National team, while then the Sofia Tornarou he gave the “free throw” making it 10-8 and gave the “blue and white” the third place in Europe.

The Netherlands managed to cut it to 10-9 but it was enough to turn things around.

First scorer of the match for the European Bronze Champions was Stefania Santa with 3 goals.
