Paris Saint-Germain reported on Monday (29) that Neymar will be in recovery for six to eight weeks after suffering a severe foul last Sunday (28).

According to the club, tests detected a sprain in the left ankle of the shirt 10, with injuries also to ligaments at the site.

The period includes the match against Club Brugge, in the Champions League, scheduled for the next 7th, as well as matches for the French Championship.

The Brazilian was injured in the French team’s last game for the national championship, against St. Etienne, after receiving a violent challenge from Yvann Maçon. The Brazilian left the field loaded on a stretcher, crying.

“Let’s recover. Unfortunately these setbacks are part of an athlete’s life. Now that’s what you have to do, raise your head and let’s go. I’ll come back better and stronger,” stated Neymar, on social media, after the match, but even before of the diagnosis.

The PSG also stated that it must publish a new medical report, within 72 hours, to inform about the evolution of its athlete’s recovery.

In addition to shirt 10, PSG also has Wijnaldum, Ander Herrera and Draxler on its injury list. The first two should return to the field soon, but the last one remains unpredictable.

Striker Mauro Icardi and defensive midfielder Marco Verrati, who lost the match against St. Etienne because they were injured, have already recovered. Now it is possible that they return to the team in the duel this Wednesday (1st), against Nice, for the French.
