Bayern reaffirmed that they will not sign Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo after agreeing to sell Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

After weeks of negotiations, the Spanish club have finally secured a €50m (£42m) deal to bring Lewandowski to Campnow.

Bavarian CEO Oliver Kahn told Bilt on Saturday:

“Lately we have been very successful in the transfer market and we have signed an absolute world-class player in Sadio Mané’s attack. Now we have reached an agreement with Barcelona.

“But so far, the contract has not been discussed yet, only verbally.”

Bayern, who signed a £35m deal with Liverpool’s Sayed Manet this summer, are one of the few clubs in Europe to have moved on Ronaldo.

Manchester United, 37, have hinted that they want to leave this summer to join a club that can win the Champions League this season.

However, Bavarian sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said on Saturday that a transfer to Ronaldo at Sport 1 was not considered.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has great respect for his success and his career,” Salihamidzic said.

But again, this is our topic, not the topic.

Earlier this week, Chelsea also denied a move to sign Ronaldo.
