The Irish rugby hero got over his emotions after his monumental and historic series defeated the All Blacks.

Andy Farrell’s team set the deciding factor for Saturday with their first victory in New Zealand last week, but went a step further in Wellington and finished the series with a convincing 32-22 victory.

“It’s an amazing feeling. We talked at the start of the tour but Flanker Josh Vander Flier immediately told Sky Sports.

“This is the course you want to do. It’s not that hard.

“It was a goal that came out here. It seemed like a lot after the first week, but I am incredibly proud of this group.

“It was great to end with such a performance. It feels amazing.”

The Funder Flyer were in fine form with a brilliant win recording the first try in the match in just four minutes as Ireland broke New Zealand’s defense in the first round for the third week in a row.

The host, shaken by the concussion, had to climb as Hugo Keenen and Robbie Henshaw tried to help Ireland lead a barely understandable 19-point lead at half-time.

After the break, New Zealand inevitably responded with attempts from Ardie Savea and Akira Ioane as the All Blacks were threatened with an incredible breakaway.

Indeed, the Irish problem when Andrew Porter was sent into the penalty area six minutes after the break, and when New Zealand winger Will Andrew Jordan crossed to cut the deficit to just three points, hope seemed remote.

Surrogate prostitute Rob Herring came to Ireland’s rescue, but recorded an attempt to help launch one of the most sensational sports in Irish history, not to mention rugby.

“There must have been four million people home for breakfast, probably a few pints,” Irish captain Johnny Sexton said.

“It’s a very special day because we play the best in the world. It’s very special to come here and do this.”

Regarding Farrell’s influence and the causes he came up with, Sexton added: It starts with the main character of the phase (Andy Farrell). He came here. He changed things.

“He was brave at first. He met some older men and he was criticized. He brought some young men. He just did a great job and his achievements. I admitted it.

“That means a lot now. When the World Cup starts a year later, it doesn’t mean anything as we’ve learned, but it’s a lot of fun tonight, and maybe a few more days.”

“We have to keep improving. This is what we have to learn from the previous year.”
