Mikel Arteta said that Oleksandr Zinchenko will play mainly at Arsenal’s left-back.
Ukraine International Airlines completed a £32m transfer from Manchester City and joined his new teammate in the United States for a pre-season tour.
Zinchenko helped Citi win the Premier League four times while at the club and has proven to be a versatile option for Pep Guardiola’s side in recent seasons.
Zinchenko was impressed with several areas of the city field, but Arteta suggests he is planning a more defensive role at the age of 25.
“His main position has been left behind,” Arteta said on Friday.

Meanwhile, Martin Ødegaard praises Arsenal’s decision to sign Zinchenko.
“I’ve seen him play a lot and I really like his qualities. I think he’s a great player,” Odegor told reporters.
