The 2023 Women’s World Cup final in Sydney

by

The Women’s World Cup will be held jointly in New Zealand and Australia, starting on July 20, 2023 at Eden Park in Auckland, with the final taking place on August 20 in Sydney.

Australia’s largest city will host 11 matches, while another nine matches will be held in New Zealand’s most populous city, according to the organizers, after the reduction of the number of cities hosting the matches for the top event.

It is worth noting that the two countries were selected in June 2020 to host the first Women’s World Cup with 32 teams.

At that time the organizers wanted to … divide the games into 13 stadiums and 12 cities, but in the end only nine cities and 10 stadiums, including two in Sydney, will eventually host the games, as announced by FIFA.

Specifically, 35 of the 64 games scheduled will take place in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. At the same time, the remaining 29 matches will be played in Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington and Hamilton.

The quarterfinals … are split between the two countries, while the semifinals will be held at Stadium Australia and Eden Park.
