Igobe Shikuku became an OFI player on Monday. The Cretans announced on Monday the signing of the international winger from Botswana for next year in order to bolster their attack.
The 28-year-old played in the Israeli league last season.
In detail, the announcement:
“OFI’s new transfer signing, Igobe Sikuku, is from Botswana, South Africa.
The 28-year-old (21/10/1994) right-handed diagonal has a height of 2.04 and was one of the best strikers in the Israeli League, in which he played.
There he was named the third best striker and fifth scorer in the league, while he is also an international player with his country’s national team.
He nails at 3.70 and blocks at 3.43 meters and his impressive physical qualities will add strength, height and aggression to OFI’s game.
Igobe Sikuku will replace Moroccan Taoufiq El Asri, who informed coach Delikostas that, due to injury, he cannot travel to Greece.
The OFI coach moved quickly and found his replacement, who seems to have the elements that the coach of the Cretan team wants.
Igobe Sikuku, in addition to the Israeli championship, has also competed in Kuwait.
Igobe Sikuku, welcome to our OFI volleyball team.”
