Bruno Fernandes and Jurgen Klopp exchange words after Liverpool’s defeat against Manchester United (Sky Sports)

Jürgen Klopp will replace Bruno Fernandes after Liverpool’s loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Liverpool are looking for their first win of the new Premier League season as goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford put United ahead.

Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s goal but failed to score.

Fernandez and Salah quarreled after the Portuguese team refused to give the Liverpool striker the ball after scoring.

After the final whistle, Klopp approached Fernandes, put his arm around the United midfielder’s neck and exchanged light words.

Asked about his first interaction with Fernandes during the match, Klopp said in the post-match press conference:

“It was the most harmless conversation I’ve ever had with a player as emotional as I am.

Jürgen Klopp complains to officials after Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1

Jürgen Klopp has complained to officials after Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 (Reuters).

“That was the situation in the central half. [Lisandro] Martinez, with whom we took the “terrible” shot, was clearly doing nothing.

“But after the game, everything was fine. He told me he needed to have these conversations. It’s okay, use me.”

Klopp also downplayed the dispute between James Milner and Virgil van Dijk after Sancho’s first goal.

“Now I know, I haven’t seen it, but I think so [the question] Arguing on the pitch, yelling at each other and things like that,” Klopp said.

“We don’t have any problem, the team doesn’t have a similar problem. It’s perfectly normal that no one is happy after losing a game, but it’s not an explanation or an excuse or anything.

“Here in this department, everything is fine.”
