Monaco beat Nice 1-0 in Nice to close out Ligue 1’s sixth matchday and move within two points of the European places and Lille to claim their second league win and leave the Cote d’Azur side low in the standings and with a win to their credit, with both having their minds on the premier of European competitions and the matches against Red Star and Cologne respectively next Thursday.

The Monegasques were in control of the match for the longest time and managed to score with Empolo in the 69th minute after Caio’s ball.
