Corinthians and São Paulo decide on this Wednesday (8), at 9 pm, the title of the São Paulo Women’s Soccer Championship at Neo Química Arena. With all tickets sold out in two days, the modality still struggles to consolidate itself in the country.
Admissions are free and it was necessary to book the ticket online. The classic Majestoso will only have the presence of the Corinthians fans and will be shown by the SporTV channel and by the streaming platforms Paulistão Play, YouTube and Eleven.
The Paulista Football Federation offers the prize of R$90 thousand to the champion team and, for the vice-president, R$50 thousand. These are values well below those distributed in the tournament played by men. São Paulo champion this year, São Paulo received R$ 3.5 million, and Palmeiras, who finished second, got R$ 1.1 million.
In the previous season, the FPF paid, respectively, R$ 5 million to the title holder in the men’s. However, the entity readjusted the portion under the justification of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the first game of the women’s tournament, São Paulo beat Corinthians 1-0 on Saturday (4), in front of their fans at Morumbi. Midfielder Micaelly scored the goal after receiving a beautiful pass from Glaucia.

The two rivals played a leading role in the tournament’s decision in 2019 and, at the time, Corinthians, run by coach Arthur Elias, 40, got the better of it.

Lucas Piccinato, 31, coach of São Paulo, has been with the club since when women’s football was reactivated in 2019 at the Morumbi club. That year, the team guaranteed access to the elite of the Brazilian Championship, in addition to getting the vice of Paulista.
Piccinato, Elias’ friend (both worked together at the Olympic Center), plans to pay back this Wednesday. “We are aware of the difficulties in facing the best Brazilian team in recent years, our group is drooling over this challenge and wanting to put into practice what was worked on”, says the São Paulo commander.
