For the coach of the Brazilian national team, Tite, the team misses Neymar, who is out because of an ankle injury, but has creative power without the striker.

“Of course Neymar, he has different attributes,” he said. “Then [a seleção] he misses, yes, he misses Neymar. Sit down,” he said.

Tite pondered, however, that the players have the repertoire and creation capacity to make up for the striker’s absence.

“The team makes the star”, said the coach, referring to Casemiro, who scored the goal in the 1-0 win against Switzerland, this Monday (28).

The coach made the statement at a press conference accompanied by the midfielder and assistant coach Cesar Sampaio.

Without Neymar and Danilo, Tite chose Éder Militão and Fred, with Paquetá playing more advanced.

The goal that guaranteed Brazil’s classification to the round of 16 came from Casemiro. The defensive midfielder hit a cross kick at the end of the second half and set the score against the Europeans.

The move took place minutes after the VAR (video referee) annulled a goal scored by striker Vinícius Jr. for impediment by Richarlison, who participated in the play.

With six points, the team only needs a draw against Cameroon, next Friday (2), to finish in the first position of Group G. The green and yellow team debuted with a 2-0 victory, on Thursday (24), against Serbia.
