Eight days after suffering a sprained right ankle in Brazil’s debut in the World Cup against Serbia, Neymar returned to training with the ball this Saturday (3). The green-and-yellow team will face South Korea, for the round of 16, on Monday (3).
The activity of the Brazilian squad at Grand Hamad, in Doha, was closed to the press. So far, the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) has not yet reported whether the player participated in all training, without complaining of pain in the injured region.
In a video released by the entity, however, the number 10 appears doing warm-up exercises with his teammates, including with the ball. Afterwards, he participates in a “bobinho” circle. He also appears kicking the ball with his right foot, which is injured. In the images, there are no expressions of pain.
On Friday (2), the doctor of the Brazilian team, Rodrigo Lasmar, had already informed that he would start the transition process to the field to find out if he would be able to return in the round of 16.
Thus, expectations increase that he can play against the South Koreans after missing the team against Switzerland and Cameroon, still in the group stage.
Right-back Danilo, on the other hand, has a more advanced frame. He also suffered a sprained ankle, but has trained with the group normally and appears to have recovered from the injury.
Left-back Alex Sandro, in turn, did an activity on a separate field, with a lighter load. He suffered a muscle injury to his hip during the game against Switzerland. His use against South Korea, for now, is uncertain.
