Danilo, 31, is not worried about his position in the Brazilian national team as long as it is “in the field”, as he joked when speaking this Thursday (8) of his versatility.

“Playing on the right, left or center of defense is indifferent to me”, declared the player, who is a right-back by origin.

Athlete from Juventus, Italy, he says he feels at ease in any role on the defensive line. He even has the idea of changing his position soon and starting to play more as a defender.

“For me it’s something natural. I think that in the next few years I’ll be a centre-back, which is where I’ve enjoyed the best”, he said.

Against Croatia, this Friday (9), when Brazil will fight for a place in the semifinals of the World Cup in Qatar, the full-back should play again on the left, covering the vacancy of Alex Sandro, still recovering from injury.

“I played like that for a long time at Manchester City. At Juventus, I’ve been playing like that for a few years now. The secret of success in the national team, of our ability to transform tactical schemes, I think is the availability of the players”, said Danilo.

On the other side, on the right, defender Éder Militão, also improvised, will cover his place in the game at Cidade da Educação stadium, which starts at noon (Brasília time).
