On Sunday, December 11, the last match of the Greek Cup for 2022 took place at the Corinth shooting range, which was the second in a row whose score is a criterion for qualifying for the World Snowball Championship in Thailand.
Once again the greatest interest was attracted by the battle between the three best Greek shooters who won the first three places in the Modified category with a very small difference between them.
The winner was Michalis Hatzigiannis, who on his good day is impossible to defeat. Second came Yannis Topalidis with a slight difference from Giorgos Filippou who, in addition to being a top shooter, is also the man who coaches the team with impressive results so far.
D. Karasoulos and G. Roupakias took fourth and fifth place respectively, being clearly improved compared to the previous race. In the Standard Manual category, D. Kandylis won by a small margin from Ath. Sismanis, while third came X. Giannakidis, who has a lot of room for development. The experienced K. Roumeliotakis and F. Sifakis took fourth and fifth place respectively, followed by M. Tsichlis and D. Mylonas.
It is characteristic of the two categories that the athletes who got on the podium compete with Benelli and in fact Hatzigiannis and Filippou represent our country in the Italian team, which has for its members the best shooters in the world.
In the Open category, the winner with Typhoon F12 was G. Iliadis, second was Eleni Tsopouropoulou and third was the teenager Maria-Lina Vasilatou,
while fourth was Diamantis Grigoriadis, fifth was G. Tsekouras and sixth was the teenager D. Koumbetsos. The young Ioanna Gogou made a good appearance and was ranked Tuesday in the Open ladies.
Finally in Standard Karman, Ath. Farmakis and S. Korkolis took the podium followed by S. Papadopoulos, G. Kourdis and N. Rentas.
The Panhellenic next match will be in Ioannina on February 18-19, 2023, hoping that it will have a level similar to the corresponding matches abroad.
