After the 2-0 defeat by France, which deprived Morocco of the chance to play in the final of the World Cup in Qatar, coach Walid Regragui lamented the chances lost by his team at the Al Bayt stadium, in Al Khor.

“We did our best, that’s the most important thing. We had some injuries, we lost Aguerd in the warm-up, Saïss, Mazraoui in the break. It was a lot for us. The players who came on did their best, but when you play against France, any mistake you paid. We couldn’t score in the first half. In the second, we had several chances, but we didn’t know how to materialize. If we had the five players [machucados] the danger would be greater for the French team”, lamented the commander, saying he was proud of his team.

“In the beginning, we conceded the goal very quickly, which changed the game’s panorama. We had possession of the ball and made several technical mistakes. In the second half, we were more incisive, direct, and didn’t lose many balls. That’s why we created good situations. of goal. Of course we wanted to score, but they managed to score the second goal”, said the commander.

Regarding the dispute for third place, Regragui stated that he will do everything for Morocco to stay in third place.

“We have to rebuild ourselves psychologically and try to recover the injured players because we want to finish third. I want to win this game anyway, I do everything to win. We had a good campaign, with the support of the fans. We know that to win the World Cup It’s not easy,” he said.

“It will be a small final, it will be difficult because we have several injuries. But I have two ideas. I will give chances to players who haven’t played yet and make a mix of players to try to win”, added Regragui, stating that his players are tired for the gaming marathon.
