Statements:

Christina Tsiligiri: “Don’t stop helping” is an action that Olympiacos started many years ago, when I was General Secretary at Olympiacos at the time, and with great pleasure it continues today. Today, as the director of UNESCO, we welcomed Olympic athletes and with them we gave joy to our fellow human beings these days, of course it is not only these days and that is very important. They had the pleasure of chatting with the athletes, enjoying a nice hot plate of food in the new UNESCO Structure we have built. And of course, to be guided around the premises and the dormitory, which also hosts refugees from Ukraine.”

Dinos Genidounias: “We are proud, happy, to be part of this family, this club, which for another year shows sensitivity and charity, shows the way and the example for the whole world, days like these to show compassion to fellow human beings who needs it. Today, we did something very small, we as Olympiakos athletes, in front of what people do here every day, which helps this world, with a roof, with a plate of food. I wish the people here happy holidays and next year we will be well, we will be next to the people, we will help as much as we can”.

Petros Kandylas: “Another very beautiful initiative of Olympiakos, we came today to the UNESCO Building, in Piraeus, to distribute food to the homeless, these days it is important that they also feel the holidays, Christmas. It was our honor to be in this very beautiful place and to show our love to this world.”

Eleftheria Pleuritou: “Today we visited the UNESCO Structure in Piraeus, it was a very beautiful afternoon, we helped at lunch with the distribution of food. A very nice energy and initiative from Olympiakos, we came athletes from all amateur sports in a very nice building, well-kept, clean and we helped people who need it. It would be very nice if all the people would help.”

Demosthenes Linardos: “I am quite happy, that Olympiacos, as a team, as an association and above all, as human beings, stands in this kind of actions! We are in the Municipality of Piraeus, in a very good project to raise awareness among citizens towards the most needy residents of the area, they hosted us here, we saw the premises, which here can offer food to up to 2,000 people. It is important that these actions take place, we are very happy to have come here, we wanted to, to give a smile, a little joy to these people who struggle every day. Their daily life must also change, they must see something different.”

Maria Jenitsaridis: “The festive days are coming, it is very important that the Olympiakos club supports such initiatives, so that we can help our fellow man as much as we can. Today we were guided around the structure, we also helped with our side, it is very important that the whole world helps those who are in need”.

Ioannis Maronitis: “First of all, I would like to thank the management of Olympiakos, the players of the teams, for their sensitivity to come here and give us this smile, this support, which is so necessary in these difficult times that we are experiencing . First of all, the workers, the beneficiaries and all of us need it, this sense of security provided by this team, which represents the country, our Piraeus, represents us all! I was saying before, that I was in Mexico on a trip and they didn’t know Piraeus, they didn’t know Athens, but they knew Olympiacos! And that is very impressive. From the bottom of my soul, I thank you, I thank all the children for being here today, it gave us great joy, it gave us courage and a message of optimism and hope in these days of Christmas.”
