The match

Monaco started furiously the game and with Motiegounas in front gained “air” of 8 points (2-10 in 3 ‘). Nevertheless, the hosts reacted and came back with Erickson shooting (15-15 in 6 ‘). In fact, Gonthaleth’s team closed the first ten minutes with a small lead (23-21).

At the start of the 2nd period, Alba ran individual score 9-2 and escaped with +6 (32-26 in 15 ‘). Motiejunas kept the visitors upright (35-30), however Obradovic’s players blocked in the final of the half and found themselves at -10 (40-30).

The Germans had more solutions and in the 3rd period, with Lamers entering the equation and bringing his team to +12 (49-37 in 23 ‘). The answer of the Monegasques came with a partial 9-2, which brought them to -5 (51-46 in 26 ‘). However, the hosts closed better in the tenth minute and were sent off again (69-56).

With James and Lee unstoppable, the guests ran 13-2 and approached within shooting distance in the first minutes of the 4th period (76-74 in 35 ‘). Nevertheless, the Alba players kept their composure and, led by Lo, walked away again (86-78 in 38 ‘). The last two minutes were a standard procedure, as Monaco had no way to return and was fatally defeated 92-84.
