Vangelis Alexandris was born in Thessaloniki on 2/2/1951.
The nickname “tiger”, which follows him from the time he played basketball until today, was not given to him by chance. Explosive, decisive with passion characterizing his game, elements he retained when he transitioned from action to the bench.
He worked in many teams, being one of the most successful Greek coaches. The two European titles he won stand out from his record! In 2001, coach Alexandris had led Maroussi to win the Saporta Cup, while in 2003 he won the Champions Cup with Aris, in the two top European courses of his coaching career.
Besides these, he has participated in Greek and European F4. He has worked for the teams: Ari, PAOK, Herakles, AEK, GSL, Olympia Larissa, AEL, Apollon Patras, Panionio, Kolossos Rhodes, Heraklion, Kavala.
– With 537 games in the Championship, he is in 2nd place of all time.
– In 2013 he was the national coach of the Jordanian national team.
