Olympic and Finikas of Syros face off tonight at the indoor gym “Melina Merkouri” (9:30 PM EPT3, sport-fm.gr) as part of his second semi-final League Cup “Nikos Samaras».

In the first game, Alberto Giuliani’s team won 3-0 sets for the 2nd game of the Volley League, while in the second game they passed “Dimitris Vikelas” of Syros, winning in the tie break (2-3).
Olympiakos libero Dimitris Tziavras said in his statements before the second semi-final:
“It is, perhaps, the first game this year, which we have to treat as… a final and we have our backs against the wall, because of the bad first result in Syros. Nevertheless, we have the quality and ability to turn the situation in our favor and find ourselves in the final of the League Cup competition. This year, we have the absolute number of victories at home and this, together with our crowd, I believe is a very important advantage in the effort we will make, to qualify”
Foinikas center Giorgos Papalexiou also spoke about the match:
“Olympiacos is a very good team. We don’t think we have to look at the two qualifying sets, but put in another good performance, like we did in the first game and in the championship game. From here on I wish the best possible result. Competitively, maximum concentration is needed to face the Olympiakos players. Their serve is a very strong element, and their court and crowd will help them, as it helped us. So it takes absolute concentration”
