The competitive marathon of 2023, with the aim of securing as quickly as possible the “ticket” that leads to the Olympic Games in Paris, begins for the two Greek judokas who are vying for a place at the top sporting event of 2024.
Elisavet Teltsidou and Thodoris Tselidis, in a period of 15 days, will participate in two Grand Slams, specifically in those that will take place in Paris (February 4-5) and Tel Aviv (February 16-18).
Teltsidou is at No-7 in the Olympic ranking of -70 kg with 1210 points, while Tselidis is at No-19 of -90 kg with 581 points. “A few days after the dawn of 2023, a year special for our sport due to its pre-Olympic character, the Hellenic Judo Federation is organizing the Panhellenic championship for teenagers and young adults at the Sports Camp of Loutraki. In the first major sporting event of the year for our federation, all the big stars of tomorrow are expected to shine, in which EO Judo is invited to invest. The new generation is the future of the sport and we are sure that in Loutraki, we will see impressive matches, which will decide the titles in both individual and mixed team. I wish all the participants good success. Good start to our events. Health to our young athletes, girls and boys, but also a wonderful year to all the member associations of the Hellenic Judo Federation”, said the president of EO Judo, Dimitris Michaelidis, in his greeting.
Let’s remember that the first three places in the corresponding last year’s event were taken by AS Sakura Katerinis, Panhellenic GS and AST Shiai of Kifissia.
