Katsanov took the first set with difficulty, which was decided in a tiebreak with 7-6 (7-5). In the second set, Korda held out until 3-2, but was then betrayed by the state of his injury.

The Russian took the next four games for a 2-0 set 6-3 and extended his run to 3-0 in the third set when Konta retired.
This is the second time – and even in a row – that Katsanov has qualified for the semifinals of the Grand Slam event, after last year’s US Open.
