Avgenakis: “We are not fans of absolute closure”

by

Lefteris Avgenakis was in favor of taking measures due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, but not to an absolute degree. The Deputy Minister of Sports claimed that suggestions have been made to both the ministry and the infectious disease committee and is waiting for the final decisions that will be announced at the beginning of the new year.

“We are fans of the measure, we are not fans of the absolute closure, that is, the ban on fans in the stands of the stadiums. We have made our own proposals, carefully and thoughtfully. We have made our proposal, I have talked for a long time and I have argued with the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, and with the committee of infectious diseases, as is done in every phase by each Ministry. “We expect them to take into account all our data and proposals, which are extremely elaborate, having the logic of the measure, but on the other hand the image of the pandemic has the committee and the Ministry of Health”, said the Undersecretary on state radio and added:

“We expect, we will argue and we will participate in the discussion to have the best result, always respecting the scientists who in fact have a much better picture than us of the course of the pandemic, the contagion, the dangers, the image of our hospitals”, concluded.
