EPO: “There will be no matches in the amateur championships if there is no defibrillator on the field”

No match will be played in the amateur championships without a defibrillator on the field!

With a statement issued by EPO after the meeting of the executive committee makes it known that due to the sudden deaths of football players in the amateur leagues, no match between amateur clubs will start if the necessary medical equipment is not on the field.

The announcement in detail:

“The Executive Committee of the Hellenic Football Federation, during today’s meeting, again and extensively discussed the issue of sudden deaths of football players in amateur leagues.

The E.U. of the EPO decided due to the recent events and because the Municipalities have not taken care to equip the fields of their property with defibrillators by not complying with the relevant provisions, no amateur championship match will be held from now on and until the Municipalities exercise their legal duties. In addition, the E.E. of the EPO decided to send a letter to the relevant Ministries in which it will request the centrally managed supply of the required defibrillators and the further information of all the Municipalities on the matter”.
