In January 2022, in the then new level of individual events of the World Table Tennis, three Greek champions competed in Dusseldorf, making last year’s start for the blue and white colors in international table tennis events.
This year, the German city will organize two consecutive Feeders in February and Greece will be represented by Yannis Sgouropoulos and Katerina Toliou. The first will be held on February 1417 and both our top representatives will take part.
The second will take place on February 21-24 and Toliou will continue there.
It should be noted that other international athletes, such as Giorgos Stamatouros and Konstantinos Angelakis, had also declared their participation to compete in Dusseldorf, however, because the positions in the world ranking are calculated, the organizers could not accept other athletes from Greece, who are low on the ranking list.
Sgouropoulos entered WTT Feeder Dusseldorf I 2023 with number 204 in the world ranking and Toliou entered WTT Feeder Dusseldorf I and II 2023 with number 186. The venue is the “Zentrum” gym. The tournaments have all individual events, but our two champions only appear in singles.
