The European leagues stand by UEFA: They react to the new attempt of the European Super League!

However, this effort was immediately opposed by the European leagues, which issued a relevant one announcement in which they fully comply with the current UEFA model.

“The European Leagues are surprised by today’s statements from A22, in which they refer to an open consultation and its results.

The European Leagues – the body that officially represents the interests of forty domestic organizers from 34 countries in Europe and 1,092 clubs – have never met or consulted the A22.

The Leagues fully support the current model of European club football, which is based on an open pyramid structure, with promotion and relegation from academies to professional level domestically and where qualification to UEFA club competitions is based on the annual performance in domestic competitions.

This model has not suffered any damage and does not require repair.’
