With videos showing the route of the “12” with their three vehicles, heading towards the scene of the murderous attack against Alkis and his group in the area of Harilaou, the trial continued today before the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki.
In particular, following the request of the defense lawyers, audiovisual material from security cameras in the area was presented, with the police officer from the Homicide Department being examined, describing step by step the route of the three vehicles and in detail the movements and positions of the perpetrators in relation to the bloody episode.
In the first video, in which the junction of Gazi and Plastira streets is recorded, according to the witness, the episode is in full progress.
“All three vehicles (a white Citroen C3, a black Renault Clio and a gray Volkswagen Polo) can be seen, as well as the perpetrators moving to the scene of the murder. After a few seconds, they leave and return to their cars and drive away. Even the shadows that are seen are appreciated. I believe that the perpetrators are waiting for the Polo to turn as well, so they give time to circle the people. That’s why the victims were attacked from two sides at the same time.”
In the second video, the route of the vehicles is recorded again, from a different security camera, which shows Gazi Street facing Plastira.
In the third and fourth videos, which are probably taken from a mobile phone, the movements of some of the accused are recorded, their departure from the scene of the attack, as well as who leaves last.
“The trio running last from the incident, are the fifth, seventh and fourth accused. At the same time, in these videos we can see the attack by Aris fans, which the perpetrators received, in order to help the five victims (0:23). A chair appears to be thrown at the vehicle. It is also seen at one point (0:04) that the second defendant is seen throwing a mobile phone on the ground. The first estimates were that he was hitting someone, but there is no person there.”
More specifically, in this video, the two cars of the defendants are depicted, and fragmentarily due to the great distance, the act of armed attack and the escape of the perpetrators.
The Citroen and the Renault appear to be parked together temporarily, at the junction of Plastira and Gazi streets, a few meters from the site of the attack. From them, the perpetrators come out, with objects in their hands.
In this particular video, in addition to these vehicles, a BMW vehicle can also be seen, whose occupants, however, did not get out of the vehicle and, as it was established, did not participate in the attack.
“The blows to Alki’s head were so severe, he would have died from them”
During his examination, he was repeatedly asked about the weapons that the defendants carried or held, about the victims’ injuries and from which instrument they might have been caused.
“The karabit does a lot of damage when it comes out of the body, because of the uneven blade. Knives, scythes, crowbars and awls were used. As the medical examiner told us, the wound on K.’s left buttock was caused by a large object, a knife or a sickle. A.B. he had two wounds on the left thigh, probably from a knife, one on the calf, on the buttock and wounds on the head. Alkis suffered multiple wounds and cuts, as well as receiving very significant blows with sticks and bats on his hands and head. The cause of death given by the medical examiner was uncontrollable bleeding, however the blows to the head were so severe that he would have died from them,” testified the witness.
